Oh hey! Long time no blog! Oopsy!

We are insanely busy trying to get this place open! There is definitely a gap in what’s happened here since my last post. So to sum up…

We got the brewing system up and running. It makes beer now! A lot of it in fact. We’ve brewed nine batches of beer on the 10 bbl system plus four pilot batches.

We are painting and woodworking and doing all kinds of stuff to finish the bar. Electrical, plumbing, lighting, bathroom flooring… So much. Just so much stuff. We’re almost done now, and just have to get our final inspections done with the city this week.

I’m getting our staff ready to go and planning for our opening. Also working on tons of legal stuff and paperwork. There is a lot to do to get this shizzle up and running. A lot.

We are all licensed, which is fantastic. The beer is tasting amazing, which is really the important part. We’re crazy close now. Here are some of the photo highlights…

Our beautiful pride and joy in all its glory

Me doing my mashing thang

Tim doing his amazing spider monkey cleaning thang

Tim and Rhett lifting the big hangy trellis thing into place. This was a huge undertaking!

The bar taking shape!

Our gorgeous handmade lights, plus Tim working on sanding the bar

Bar top gettin all shiny, brown trim board going up!

Our beloved pallet wood bar back, which Tim has been working his ass off on

The bar so far! More staining and finishing to be completed this week.

Oh yeah and we have a sign now :)

We have some particularly amazing friends that have been helping us with a lot of this stuff. I don’t know how we got to be so lucky to know some truly great people that for some reason like us enough to help us build this place!

Anyway, the plan is to open next weekend. As long as nothing crazy happens in the next week, we should hit that goal. We’ll announce the day as soon as we know for sure.

This is so awesome. Uncle Tony and I have been reading Steph’s blogs and looking at the pictures of what you have done. It is amazing and we are so proud of you both. Congratulations on the upcoming opening. Wish we could be there.

Steph, what a wonderful blog! So glad I found it. Your planning, effort and perseverance are second to none. I wish you the best of luck with the grand opening. What a journey!
We are planning a similar adventure, and when I saw the photo of all those pots and fermentors lined up on the street, it really brought home the gravity of what we are trying to do.
If possible, I would like to ask a couple of questions.
