Alright! Lots has happened in the last few weeks. Time for an update.
We made the big location announcement last week. That was pretty wild. Response was overwhelmingly positive, which is reassuring. Mountain Xpress was really quick to pick up on the story. They even asked to meet me to take a photo in front of the building, which is now in an article in the print issue out this week. Slightly flattering, slightly embarrassing.
There was a lot of activity leading up to the big announcement. I had a meeting with Planning & Zoning to introduce myself and our project, and it went well. The important thing I got out of it was that we can indeed open a brewery at 144 Coxe!
We also had a few meetings with the contractor we plan to work with to finalize the renovation estimate. That was a huge relief to finally finish. It’s a little daunting knowing everything that needs to be done to make the place a brewery, but I’m glad that we’re prepared already this early in the game.
Once we finalized the renovation estimate, we made the commitment to the building. Having an official agreement with the owner of the building was a relief, and we were finally able to share our location publicly. That in itself was pretty overwhelming, but I’m glad we did it and I’m ready to move forward.
So, armed with all the finalized quotes and estimates in the world, I finally, finally finished the business plan this week. I started that thing three years ago. Hard to believe it’s actually complete.
Now it’s time for the scary part… getting this project fully funded. This is really the part I’ve been dreading. But I’m going into it with confidence, and a solid, intensely well-researched business plan.
Here goes nothing.

So looking forward to Twin Leaf and it will be within walking distance of my office in the Grove Arcade!

You’re well on your way! Best of luck!
Congratulations! Asheville. Beating Portland OR for beer geekery of late, no? I stopped into Thirsty Monk on my trip there.
