This past Friday, Tim and I attended Venture Local, a local, sustainable business conference. Themes included:

• Accelerating community capital across all stages of entrepreneurship
• Furthering WNC as a center for emerging and connected sustainable industries
• Fostering connections to spark new business development opportunities

So, pretty much the perfect place for us to show our faces as a new start-up in WNC!

The agenda was packed full of great talks, all dealing with entrepreneurship, funding new businesses, pitching to investors, and more. Plus, there were breakout sessions to delve further into different industries, including a session specifically for craft brewing and distilling.

The conference brought together people from many different industries, and lots of interesting discussions took place throughout the program. And the locally sourced, farm-to-table lunch was absolutely delicious!

But the real value for us came from all the people we were able to meet that can help us get started funding Twin Leaf. We’ve got a lot of work ahead of us to raise the capital we need, and we made some great connections at this conference to get us started!

I’ve got a lot of emails and phone calls to make this week. Exciting times!
